Our Story

Behavioral Health of Georgia (BHGA) was formed in 2011 primarily to give housing support to individuals with mental health challenges. BHGA opened two large housing complexes and several scattered housing sites to address this challenge and meet this growing need. In 2019, the BHGA Board decided to extend the mission to include support for all mental and substance use programs.

Behavioral Health of Georgia’s mission is to support the advancement of an individual’s path to recovery. BHGA achieves this mission by providing advocacy, awareness, and financial support to View Point Health so that mental health and substance abuse services are never-ceasing and robust. BHGA organized its structure into three distinct, but collaborative working teams. These working teams focus on specific goals to forward the overall mission. These teams are Donors, Grants (Partners) and Events.

OUR IMPACT

Since 2019, Behavioral Health of Georgia received over $680,000 in grants, donations and events to better serve and support individuals with behavioral health challenges. These dollars will be allocated primarily to support individuals who are currently facing homelessness or those who struggle with chronic homelessness and its effects. In addition, View Point Health – through foundational support from BHGA – served over 16,000 individuals in Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, DeKalb, Fulton and other select counties in Georgia.
